TOMMY JOHNSON

Tommy Lee Johnson, age 75, of Middlesboro, Kentucky passed away May 13, 2026 at Middlesboro A.R.H.

He was born on July 31, 1950 in Hulen, Kentucky and was the son of Beno and Nadine Rhea Johnson. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, David and Sarah Johnson, maternal grandparents, Frank and Nettie Rhea, his beloved wife, Marian Bennett Johnson, brother, Tony Johnson, cousin, Danny Johnson, nephews, Billy Waldron and Allen Hall, and many others.

Tommy loved the Lord and was a faithful member and deacon at Northside Missionary Baptist Church. Tommy had a great love for his church; where he served, worshipped, and fellowshipped.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army. 

The definition of a true “people person”, Tommy had a sweet smile and a joyful disposition that naturally gravitated others toward him. He loved simply socializing with folks, and strangers quickly became friends. Tommy adored his regular hangouts at Hardees where he loved to chat with his buddies and drink a good cup of coffee.

In his younger days, he enjoyed boating and being on the lake. An avid sports fanatic, Tommy could always be found rooting on the Kentucky Wildcats or standing on the sidelines cheering on the Middlesboro Yellow Jackets (while enjoying a pile of nachos).

A heart full of pure, genuine love for the Lord and people, Tommy always made others feel seen, heard and cared for. His sweet smile, kind temperament and unending joy continuously flowed from within him and will forever be remembered by those who were blessed to know him.

Left to cherish his memory, his daughters, Stephanie Minor, Joy Hewett and her husband, Jack, and Lauren Johnson, grandchildren, Brittney Horton, Jordan Hewett, and Jake Hewett, and many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

The family of Tommy Lee Johnson will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Green Hills Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 16, 2026 at the Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Howard and Rev. Glenn Hoskins presiding. Full Military Honors will be presented.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tommy’s name to Blackmont Baptist Church or Northside Missionary Baptist Church.
