WALTER "HARRISON" BLACKBURN Obituary

Walter Estil “Harrison” Blackburn, age 66, of Pineville, passed away on December 12, 2024.

He was born in Chenoa, Kentucky to the late William and Nancy Blackburn.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother and best friend Charlie Blackburn, sister Blanche Blackburn, grandson Brycen Blackburn, and granddaughter Lainey Dixon.

Harrison most enjoyed spending time at home with his little loves who were his pride and joy, his precious grandchildren. At a time when his health would allow it, he would spend pleasurable time hunting and fishing. Any good reason to be outside would pull him out of doors into the hills and countryside where he was at his happiest. He could spend hours hunting for hickory chickens; a southern delicacy that he enjoyed eating. His work took him to the coal mines and his passion for sport and kids took him to the hardwood as a basketball coach.

He will be dearly missed by his wife Frankie Blackburn, son Logan (Kayla) Blackburn, daughters Holly (Dewey) Dixon, Charity (Matt) Blackburn, and Julie (Nigel Thomas) Elbe, brothers James Blackburn, Pete Blackburn, Harold Blackburn, Charles Blackburn, Larry Blackburn, Frank Blackburn, and Ancil Blackburn, sisters Lois Carson, Edith Partin, and Ruth Philpot, grandchildren Elijah Dixon, Kylie Dixon, Shiloh Blackburn, Mariah Lattimore, and Jahrelle Thomas, and many nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him so very much.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 16, 2024 at Green Hills Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 16, 2024 at the Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Fuson and Rev. Jordan Graves officiating. Music will be provided by the New Vine Church singers and special song by Dorothy Miracle.

Interment will follow in the Richard Partin Cemetery in Chenoa, Kentucky.

Pallbearers will be Joe Humfleet, Randy Joe Partin, Charles Partin Jr, Patrick Cureton, Ashton Miracle, and William Hammontree. Honorary pallbearer are his nephews.
