Wilma Jean Gibbons, age 85, of Ewing, Virginia went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital. She was born November 4, 1938 in Union County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Esco and Eliza (Kirkland) White.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Martin Gibbons, as well as two brothers Willard and Delbert White, and six sisters, Viney Dyke, Willie Brantley, Juanita Duncan, Elena Duncan, Thethal Gibbons and Evon Wheland.
She is survived by her two children, Conley (Debra) Gibbons and Patrica (Jimmy) Cheek, of Ewing, VA., five grandchildren, Shawn (Jakee) Gibbons, Victoria (Jason) Cupp, John (Rebecca) Cheek, Josh (Christy) Cheek and Amy (Jason) Owens, nine great-grandchildren, Eli Gibbons, Emma Gibbons, Easton Gibbons, Cambrie Cupp, Jake Cupp, Kyler Cheek, Clay Cheek, Colt Cheek and Peyton Owens, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and some very special friends.
The family of Wilma Gibbons will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Green Hills Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2024 at the Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Partin officiating. Music will be provided by Derick and Matthew Massengill and the Partin Family.
Graveside Services will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2024 at the Cubbage Cemetery, Cubbage, Kentucky. Family and friends will meet at Green Hills Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. to follow in procession.
Pallbearers will be John Cheek, Josh Cheek, Shawn Gibbons, Jason Cupp, Kyler Cheek and Clay Cheek.
Honorary Pallbearers are Jason Owens, Colt Cheek, Eli Gibbons, Easton Gibbons and Jake Cupp.
