ZOLA BERNICE MAYES

Zola Bernice Mayes, age 68, of Speedwell, Tennessee passed away April 23, 2025 at the Middlesboro A.R.H. Hospital.

Bernice was born on March 11, 1957 in Campbell County, Tennessee.  She worked for many years at the Middlesboro Boys Group Home. She was a loving and caring person.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Sally Hunter, and her husband, Curtis Mayes.

Left to mourn her memory, her sister, Josey Neely, her loving sister, Genny Bussell, brother Allen Hunter, nephews Logan Neely and Peyton Neely, her children of the heart that she was a second mom to, Tracy Nancy, Allen, and Tabby, special friends Amand Dziadul, Nina Mayes, and Rev. Travis Dunn, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at Oakview Cemetery in Middlesboro, Kentucky at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2025 with Rev. Travis Dunn officiating.
